So I think I’ve been up front with you guys about my passion for French fashion (yes i meant to write that). Well it’s time to spread our tricolour wings and start enjoying some frenchy cuisine too! I have been lucky in many ways, but most of all by a gorgeous man who loves his food and best of all, loves cooking it too!!!
And with that declaration, I give you the results of my Mr. GoldDust watching the entire series of SBS French Food Safari over and over and over. With one magical dusting of icing sugar and 'a touch of butter' by Guillaume Brahimi, Mr GoldDust was hooked and our house has been blessed with lemon madeleines ever since on a fairly regular basis.
These little golden shell cakes are just a delight, and who am I to argue with the French novelist, Proust who declared eating a madeleine 'invaded his senses' with 'exquisite pleasure', Wow! And they are not only a delight to me but to my children as well. So easy to make, they can drag their chairs, (god help me that noise is like fingernails on a blackboard!) over to help Daddy.
The batch pictured was whipped up on the weekend for our GDD meeting, (he’s amazing!). And if you’d like to replicate those little shell indentations a madeleine tray is kinda mandatory, and so is the recipe! So I happily pass on this little family ritual to you, knowing you won't be disappointed, and if you are, all complaints can be forwarded on to Proust...
Enjoy the link to SBS French Food Safari, so much to love!
